112 BN CRPF Celebrates 36th Raising Day in Kangpokpi

KANGPOKPI: The 112 BN CRPF, Kangpokpi on Wednesday celebrated its 36 years of valour at Kangpokpi district HQ with pomp and gaiety.

The Raising Day witnessed various activities, including inter-coy games & sports events, debate competition on security scenario in Manipur, online quiz, among others in the preceding days of the main event on April 1. 

The E Coy begged the Winner Trophy in volleyball match while A Coy won Tug of War. Exhibition matches were also conducted involving staff/personnel of various branches of the unit for fun and entertainment, CRPF said in a statement.

The CRPF stated that unit martyrs who sacrificed their life on line of duty were also paid respect at Martyrs Memorial on the main day. The operational achievements of the unit were also revisited and remembered which reinvigorates and motivates the current ranks and files in the unit, it added.

Guard of honour to the Commandant of the Unit, followed by Special Sainik Sammelan at Quarter Guard were also the ceremonial events of the Raising Day.

Later in the evening, Rajesh Kumar, DIG (Ops) KPI Range graced the splendid cultural programme as the Chief Guest. Besides, senior officers viz CO 112 BN CRPF RK Baruah, CO 100 BN RAF Ritul Das, CO 152 BN CRPF Love Kumar, CO 105 BN BSF Himanshu Choudhary, SP of Kangpokpi Abhinav, SP of Senapati Shaikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, D. Bhagwati, Dy. Chief Engineèr (NF Railways), Dr. Paokai Kipgen CMO Kangppokpi and Letkhomang Haokip, DGM MSPDCL and other Officers, local media and jawans also attended the cultural evening.

Ex-CRPF personnel of Kangpokpi area were also invited, who turned up with their families. 

Various cultural events, including Bihu, Bhangra, Jharkhandi, Rajasthani dances were also showcased by various teams. Solo songs, dances and patriotic songs were also presented by unit personnel. A Yoga demo was also performed by the unit’s master Yoga trainers.

The event concluded with a Bara Khana which was enjoyed by one and all in the same standard irrespective of ranks and files.
