13 tested Covid-19 positive; one surgeon and one anaesthetist joins district hospital

Ukhrul district reported 13 positive cases on Saturday while four residences have been declared containment zone.

In what was a positive development for the district populace, one surgeon Dr. Ngasung Mahongnao and Anaesthetist Dr. Md Nushrat have joined Ukhrul District Hospital, according to chief medical officer, Ukhrul, Dr. Kapangring.

Meanwhile he thanked all who have great concern for the district and making this long wait happen, and added that Ukhrul district surely be served better and the citizens long awaited operation Theatre (OT) will function from now on.

Following detection of positive cases , the district magistrate Ukhrul had sealed four residences on Saturday with immediate effect. They are residence of AS Wungkuiza H/o AS Jennica of Alungtang Ukhrul, Ramchanpam Keengoo S/o Luckson Kengoo of Khamphasom Ukhrul, Khuishiram H/o Alaka of Wino bazar and Makanmi Theirei H/o Wonmayo of Phungreitang Ukhrul.

On the other hand, it had revoked residence of Themreingam N, Dungrei Hungpung from the containment zone as all the family members have been retested and found negative.

The district total active cases stands at 70 while death toll surged to eight.
