Moirang: The 1st Chief Minister’s and 14th Loktak Trophy 2024 kicked off with a thrilling match between Rayendai FC and Sainik FC today at Moirang Chengei Lampak Sports Complex. The inaugural match saw Rayendai FC emerge victorious with a convincing 2-0 win over Sainik FC.

Organized by the All Moirang Football Association (AMOFA) under the auspices of the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports and the National Hydro Electric Power Corporation, the opening ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti, ADM Bishnupur Hanjabam Bobby Sharma, and SP Bishnupur Ravikumar (IPS), along with Director of Youth Affairs and Sports T. Fulen.

In an exciting display of skill and teamwork, Rayendai FC secured victory in Group C with two goals scored by jersey no. 12 Sitaljit at minutes 26 and 30, respectively.

The tournament, featuring teams divided into four groups, promises to showcase top-notch football talent and intense competition over the coming days with teams vying for the prestigious titles.

Match-up between SSU and ESU in Group A is fixed for Monday.
