The 1st Ukhrul district Thang-Ta Championship 2021 is all set to be organized by Hungpung Hao-Kok Thang-Ta Academy under Ukhrul district Thang-Ta Association from October 15 till 17 at Bakshi Indoor Stadium, Hungpung.
The Sub-junior, Junior, Senior of Boys & Girls, Men & Women categories can be participated by anyone capable of competing in the three days championship.
Players can choose only one event from (A) Phunaba and another from (B) Kanglon Chatpa:
A. PHUNABA:
(i) Phunaba Ama
(ii) Phunaba Anishuba
B. KANGLON CHATPA:
(i) Thang-Haiba
(ii) Thanglon with Khonglon-Khutlon
Two martial artists, Worrintim Shimray and Pemyami Zimik from the Academy were recently selected for the National Championship to be held in Jammu on December 18.
Worrintim Shimray is selected for 70 kg category, while Pemyami Zimik is selected for Thanglon demonstration.
Hungpung Hao-kok Thang-Ta Academy was formed in 2020 under the initiative of CM Chihanyo, National Gold Medalist (1995). As the president and head coach, he is currently training 48 students in the Academy.
