2 mobile phones of 2 missing teens found at Senapati; NPO condemns

Senapati: Two mobile phones belonging to the 2 missing teens from Imphal were picked up by Senapati Police on the midnight of Sunday and Monday. Source from Senapati Police mentioned that the 2 mobile phones were found wrapped in black polythene at a place near Petrol pump, Senapati.

Senapati Police reportedly found the 2 mobile phones after Police headquarters informed them when location tracing on phones had shown. The found mobile phones were handed over to Lamshang Police by Senapati Police on Monday.

The Naga Peoples’ Organization (NPO) Tahamzam, Senapati strongly condemned the incident. In their condemnation from the Information & Publicity Wing, the NPO stated that they are extremely annoyed by the dastardly act of some miscreants who intentionally dropped the cell phones of the two missing Meitei youths 16-year-old Ashish Kumar [name changed] and Ningthoujam Anthony (19) at Senapati District HQ. The two youths went missing on the Nov 5 who were suspected to be kidnapped by unknown miscreants. Such deceitful act is intended to drag the Nagas and flare up misunderstandings between different communities. Nagas of Senapati has been constantly nurturing neutrality, but unscrupulous miscreants tend to scapegoat those not involved. This diabolic ploy to mislead the public is out rightly condemned by the NPO, Senapati, and shall not leave any stone unturned to find out the culprit and befitting punishment be meted out, it said.

While, NPO, Senapati upholding the standing resolution No. 2 of May 5, 2023, of the Joint meeting of the Tribe Hohos and the Executives of NPO, that “No Meitei or Kuki should create any problem in Senapati District, it stated to continue to extend logistical support to both the Meitei and Kuki who are stranded.”

The NPO sternly reminds the warring communities to refrain from dragging the Nagas into the conflict, the release stated.
