35 Assam Rifles Ukhrul conducts career guidance in Indian armed forces

Ukhrul: Career guidance in Indian armed force was conducted by 35 Assam Rifles (AR) at Ukhrul town post Somsai Batallion on Thursday.

A guidance program on career in Indian armed forces beginning from Sainik School, Rashtriya Military college, National Defense Academy, Naval Academy to Air Force Academy and exams such as Combined Defense Services, Short Service Commission, Permanent Commission and entry into Assam Rifles for various schemes, women entry in Indian Army, Navy, Air Force were presented elaborately.

Speaking at the program, Chuichui Woleng, special guest said, “Career guidance is the need of the hour. Program such as this will help the youngster realize their talent, interest and help make the right decision. Armed force is all about respect, honor, integrity and selfless service.” Thankful for the thoughtful attention towards the society, Chuichui expressed her appreciation to 35 AR for organizing the program.

Detailed overview of recruitment process in the Indian armed forces, as well as upcoming recruitment programs were presented by Emica Mary Pasi, Timothy Shaiza and Lheineihoi Hanghal.

Other queries and guidance session was also chaired by the Ukhrul town post commander, followed by weapon display and a jolly tempo Assam Rifles pipe band performance.

“The information provided in the career guidance has motivated me and all the attendees in many ways and I am thankful to the Assam Rifles for organizing such programs,” said Horam Phila Shangh, a high school student.

Another school student, Chumrah Mahee expressing her gratitude to AR for always reaching our for help to the society in a number of ways said, “Today’s program has given us a chance to get to know better about the career options in the Indian armed forces we weren’t aware of. The hands on experience and the multi-dimensional career option in the armed forces and its benefits has been invaluable.”

Chuichui Woleng, president Phungreitang West Shanao Long; Agnes Shaiza, president Hunphun Shanao Long; Somatai Shaiza social worker and former India football player; Seema KS Awungshi, COO Meiphung Production; Shanthing Shaiza, emcee and entrepreneur; vice president, TMNL; media, students and others attended the one day career guidance program. Dignitaries were facilitated by the commandant 35 AR Somsai Battalion and Ukhrul Town post commander.
