NEW DELHI: Monalisa Changkija, former editor of the Nagaland Page, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 3rd Kalyan Barooah Awards 2025. Changkija, was conferred the award for her remarkable and sustained contribution to journalism in the North East India region.
The North East Media Forum (NEMF), in association with My Home India, on Sunday announced the winners of the 3rd Kalyan Barooah Awards – 2025 in New Delhi. The awards are given to journalists who have excelled in their reportage on issues relating to the North Eastern region.
A five-member jury comprising former AIR Director General Maushumi Chakravarty, senior journalists Achinta Borah (PTI), Sandeep Phukan (The Hindu), Sachin Gogoi (BBC), and IIMC Aizawl Regional Director Prof. Shashwati Goswami evaluated the nominations received across different categories.

According to an official statement, Amal Goswami, chief staff reporter of Dainik Janambhumi, Assam, won in the Print Category, while Kshetrimayum Premchand, chief reporter of SKTV News, Imphal, Manipur won in the Electronic Media Award.
In the Digital Media Category, Mridul Kumar Handique of Pratidin Digital, Assam, bagged the award. No entries were received for the Still Photography and Videography categories, it stated.
The awards would be presented on Thursday, December 11 at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, coinciding with the birth anniversary of late Kalyan Barooah, it added.

The NEMF is a Delhi-based organization for journalists working in Delhi-NCR, hailing from India’s North Eastern region and journalists reporting on the region.
My Home India is an NGO dedicated to working towards bringing emotional integration between people from different parts of the country with people from India’s North Eastern region.
