CHURACHANDPUR: A three-day training programme on “Addiction Prevention & Stewardship” for Sunday School teachers and church leaders commenced on Saturday at the Gamsung Mission Office, Bijang Khopi, in Churachandpur district, Manipur.
The training is being conducted by Gamsung Mission with Soson Haokip, Director of Gamsung Mission, as the main trainer and resource person for the programme. It may be noted that Gamsung Mission is an initiative of Kuki Christian Leaders Forum (KCLF) and Council of Kuki Worship Service (CKWS) founded in 2025 to address the menace of substance abuse among the youths.

The training aims to equip participants with practical knowledge and strategies to address issues related to addiction, while also promoting responsible stewardship and leadership. Attendees include Sunday School teachers and church leaders from various churches of Churachandpur, reflecting a collective effort to strengthen community-based intervention and awareness.
According to the organisers, the training will be held over three Saturdays with the remaining sessions scheduled for April 4 and April 11.
The programme is expected to enhance the capacity of participants to guide the youths and community members towards healthier lifestyles, while reinforcing the role of the Church, particularly Sunday schools, in combating addiction and fostering social well-being.
