82 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Nagaland

Nagaland recorded 82 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, according to the Health department update. Out of the new cases of the disease, 70 are from Dimapur, 11 from Kohima and 1 case from Tuensang.

With this update on COVID-19, the state has 257 active cases of the disease at present.

Meanwhile, with the rapid surge of COVID-19 cases all over India, including Kohima district, practicing COVID appropriate behavior, especially of mandatory wearing of masks in public places and practicing social/physical distance shall be strictly enforced in Kohima district. This was stated in an order issued by Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie on Tuesday.

The order then said that organizers of social/academic/entertainment/ cultural/political/religious functions, shops, markets, restaurants, hotels, business establishments, government and private offices, educational and religious establishments, public transport under Kohima district are to strictly enforce COVID appropriate behaviors of mandatory wearing of masks: hand hygiene (hand wash/ hand sanitizer) and maintaining physical distance.

All gatherings outside the containment zone, which is permissible, shall be limited to 50% of the seating capacity or 200 persons, whichever is lower. Thermal screening shall also be mandatory for all gatherings, the  order added.
