Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sagma, also the leader of National People’s Party (NPP) has landed in Imphal today for a two day visit to meet party members.
His two day visit to Manipur as per source, is to discuss matters related to upcoming 2022 state general election.
MLA L. Jayantakumar, NPP Manipur state unit president received the National president of NPP at the Imphal airport.
Conrad Sangma, who is the son of NPP founder PA Sangma while speaking to media said he will hold meetings with NPP Manipur state unit leaders and discuss election strategies.
He also added that his visit will look at finalising party candidates from various Assembly segments for the upcoming election.
A press briefing is scheduled for 5 pm today at Classic Grande.
Meanwhile, Rock Lungleng, a student activist with an LLM in education from Symbiosis Pune from Ukhrul districthas was appointed as the general secretary of National People’s Party, Youth Wing, Manipur on August 27.
