In the continuation of Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan, launched in the celebration of the 71st birthday of prime minister, Narendra Modi to mark his 20 years in dedication of public service, former deputy speaker MK Preshow Shimray visited an orphanage at Marem on Tuesday. To encourage the proprietor of the independent orphanage, rice and other essential food items were distributed to the orphanage, ‘Our Home’ run by Gideon Kongreiwo with 15 orphans at present.
Preshow, intending candidate for 45-Chingai (ST) assembly constituency was joined by 45-Chingai Bhartiya Janata Party mandal karyakartas and the booth president in visiting the orphanage at Marem village on Tuesday.
The BJP party karyakartas led by Preshow also visited Namrei village and distributed 20 bags of rice and other essential food items. “We had a great time interacting with the villagers. I was accompanied by 45 Chingai Mandal karyakartas and the unit President of Marem,” Preshow said.
A tree plantation drive was also organised at Poi village, Preshow’s native village joined by the headman and the villagers along with party karyakartas.
Preshow took to his official Facebook handle and said, “Delighted to join a Tree Plantation Drive under the Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan program at my native village, Poi. I am grateful to the headman, the villagers and party karyakartas who participated in the program. We continue to celebrate the 71st birthday and 20 years of dedicated public service of Shri Narendra Modi ji, the honorable Prime Minister of India.”
