Ukhrul, Dec 23: With the coming of the Christmas season, the Catholic Congress, St. Paul’s Parish, Liwa Changning, has extended festive greetings to the men and women of the nation, particularly to its parishioners.

The Christmas and New Year message from the General Secretary of the Parish said that Christmas is a time for hope and a season for renewed inspiration from Christ’s universal message of peace on earth and goodwill toward men.

“During this blessed season and the jubilee year it inaugurates, let us share the gift of God’s love by living the profound and universal lesson Jesus taught us: that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Let us, like Jesus, become true peacemakers, bringing the gift of peace to our homes, schools, and communities. And let us continue to reach out when and where we can to give new hope to the most impoverished and to help resolve conflicts, ancient and new, in regions around the world,” the greetings read.

The Christmas message said that beautiful words including love, peace, joy, and hope are woven through their traditions. It called upon everyone, as they celebrate this Christmas, to resolve to build a future where all people learn to love one another and to live together in harmony; where all children know true joy; and where the hopes for peace, freedom, and prosperity for all are finally realized.
