Christmas Night Carnival Concludes in Senapati; Appeals for Plastic-Free, Safe, and Energy-Conscious Celebrations

Senapati, Dec. 22: The Christmas Night Carnival, which commenced on December 16, has been successfully conducted at the Senapati district headquarters. Organized by the District Administration in collaboration with the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA), the event has brought together a variety of celebrations and festivities.

Religious activities marking the birth of Jesus Christ, along with various entertainment programs, were held throughout the seven-night carnival. Numerous food stalls, decorative displays, and seasonal items were showcased and sold during the event.

The carnival featured engaging competitions, including a solo singing contest and group dance performances, which captivated the audience. A total of 29 solo singers participated in the singing competition, while seven groups presented their dance performances. The winners were announced on the final day of the event.

In the solo singing competition, J. Gomier Danii secured first place, with Barnice Tao and Th. Pane taking second place, and Daiziine DS finishing third. In the group dance competition, Star Girls, Lunar Leaps, and The Beast were awarded first, second, and third places, respectively.

The last day of the carnival featured guest artists from outside the district and concluded with the distribution of prizes to all the winners.

During the closing ceremony, Panii Ngaonii, SDC of Senapati, extended warm greetings on behalf of the district administration. He appealed to the public to minimize the use of plastic waste, strive to make Senapati an accident-free zone, and practice mindful electricity consumption. He also expressed gratitude to the SDSA for their efforts in organizing the event and encouraged the community to make future celebrations more meaningful by actively participating in events that honor the birth of Jesus Christ.

The final day included a variety of entertainment programs, leaving attendees with joyful memories of this year’s Christmas Night Carnival.
