IMPHAL, Sept 21: Regarding the statement made by Manipur Security Advisor, Kuldiep Singh on Friday in connection with the reported infiltration of around 900 well-trained Kuki militants into Manipur from Myanmar, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Manipur today questioned the “ineffectiveness” of the Central security forces and intelligence agencies along the Indo-Myanmar border.

AAP Manipur Activity Coordinator, Bishwanath Thingnam, while addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, criticized the Central Government’s handling of the sensitive Indo-Myanmar border amid the Manipur ongoing crisis. He went on to maintain that the people’s suspicion on the alleged nexus between the Central forces deployed in the State and Kuki militants is not getting clearer with the new development.

“The Central Government’s machineries have been leaking information about the crisis in Manipur through national media, while simultaneously deceiving the people of Manipur,” Thingnam alleged. He also accused the Central Government of pursuing a divisive policy between communities in the State while cautioning of its serious repercussions once the people and the political parties lost their tolerance.

The AAP Activity Coordinator then urged the government to come out with a realistic solution for bringing peace and normalcy in the State, adding that people have endured enough sufferings in the last 16 months.
