UKHRUL: The Zomi Co-ordination Committee on Wednesday concluded the month-long Zomi National Mourning observed in honour of Late Pu Vungzagin Valte, Member of the Legislative Assembly from the 56-Thanlon Assembly Constituency.

Describing the period of mourning, the committee stated that the past month was marked by “restraint, dignity, and unity befitting his life and legacy.” However, it noted that despite repeated representations, there has been no meaningful response from the concerned authorities regarding justice and the fulfilment of his unfinished initiatives.

The committee announced that it is now moving into the next phase, in line with its earlier resolutions. “Democratic agitations, in all legitimate forms, will commence across Zomi areas in a phased and coordinated manner with immediate effect,” it stated.
