UT News Service | Shillong, August 8: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Meghalaya, said that it “welcomes” the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 and termed it as a “revolutionary step” that would transform the nation into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society.

ABVP state secretary DarilinTang in a statement on Saturday said that the NEP narrows the gap between speaking languages and learning languages and also recognizes the importance of local language which is on the verge of extinction.

The ABVP leader said that the establishment of National Research Foundation (NRF) will help India to expand and stimulate research.

“The present scenario of the world due to Covid-19 indicates how important research is for the country. This will take the education sector in India towards a holistic approach where students will be prepared for the life and not for mere jobs,” the ABVP leader further said.
