ADC Ukhrul Orchestrates One-Day Orientation for Effective Implementation of School Calendar

Ukhrul: The Autonomous District Council of Ukhrul organized a one-day orientation program on the “Effective Implementation of ADC Schools’ Academic Calendar” at DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Ukhrul on Monday, February 5, 2024.

In his welcome speech, CEO of ADC-Ukhrul, David Kashungnao, emphasized the challenge of providing quality education to economically backward children in village schools. He stressed the importance of all Headmasters and teachers staying at their respective posting places, making it their mission to perform their duties diligently.

Addressing the issue of substitute teachers, Kashungnao stated that as the CEO of ADC, he lacks the authority to question substitute teachers as they are not his employees. He emphasized taking action against Headmasters if any issues arise in school functioning and urged SMDCs not to encourage sub-letting of teachers in their villages. The focus for the year is on monitoring and ensuring a better environment for the effective implementation of ADC Schools in the academic calendar.

Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Kengoo Zuringla, highlighted the significant responsibility teachers hold in molding the character of the children under their care. Zuringla urged all Headmasters and teachers to go to their respective places of posting and perform their duties diligently for the foundation of a well-rooted education system.

Caretaker Chairman of ADC Ukhrul, Mark Luithing, called for ensuring quality education in all schools under ADC Ukhrul, appealing to participants to deliver their duties diligently.

President of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong, Ramreichan Keishing, expressed sincere support for improving schools in every village, emphasizing the need for restructuring the functioning of schools. As a pressure group, they vowed not to encourage sub-letting of services in schools and pledged to prioritize the betterment of schools in their jurisdiction.

Vice President of Tangkhul Shanao Long, Sochanphi Mashangva, stated that the orientation program would pave the way for a successful and effective implementation of ADC Schools in the coming years. She implored headmasters, teachers, and staff to give their best and sincere effort in shaping young children and society.

The orientation program had 300 participants, including Headmasters, Headmistresses, and SMDC members. For effective monitoring and proper functioning of schools, each A.I. should report to the concerned D.I. daily through a video call to one school and take a screenshot in the presence of the D.I. Additionally, all A.I.s should visit schools in their circles once every two months, with a review meeting held every two months in the presence of the CEO.
