Ukhrul: The All Hunphun Tang Association (AHTA), representing 28 localities in Hunphun Village, has strongly condemned Meitei Leepun’s social boycott of Alfred Kanngam Arthur, the MP for Outer Manipur.
In a press release, AHTA declared that the boycott, which accuses Arthur of not supporting the government’s efforts to protect indigenous people, is unjust and undemocratic. AHTA stated that it strongly condemns the social boycott declared by Meitei Leepun against Alfred Kan-ngam Arthur, the Member of Parliament representing Outer Manipur.
AHTA also said it believe that such “actions are likely to lead to further confusion, chaos, and communal strife within the State.”
The association emphasized that Arthur has always acted in the best interest of all communities in Manipur. AHTA called for an immediate end to the boycott, urging all parties to work for the common good of all communities in Manipur. “Mr. Alfred Kanngam Arthur has raised the issue democratically as a Parliamentarlan, aiming to bring peace and normalcy to Manipur,” AHTA maintained. The press release was signed by AHTA President Chonmi Raleng and General Secretary CL Ninganung.
