ALT Imphal Organises 4th Blood Donation Camp

CHANDEL: The Anal Lenruwl Tangpi – Imphal branch on Saturday organised it’s 4th Blood Donation Camp at the Community Health Canter, Chakpikarong in partnership with Helping Hands for People, Manipur and in association with Shija Blood Centre, Langol.

According to ALT Imphal, the primary objective of the Voluntary blood donation camp, held under the theme ‘One Roof, One Donor’ was to ensure that patients in need of blood receive timely assistance while reducing the burden faced by families in arranging replacement donors at various hospitals in Imphal.

Supported by ALT General Headquarters and ALT Chakpikarong, the camp, hosted by Joyful Friends, saw over 50 volunteers registering for the donation. Doctors and medical professionals councelled the volunteers before the donation.

Volunteers from all walks of life and youths from various villages across Chakpikarong came forward to donate blood. Sr. Khingam Anal, president of the Anal Sinnu Ruwl, was also one of the prominent donors.

The Imphal branch of the ALT said that the vision behind the camp was for timely completion of the ongoing construction of the Blood bank at District Hospital, Chandel and to create a culture of voluntary blood donation to sustain the blood storage unit further ensuring availability of blood.

The ALT GHQs also expressed their gratitude to the Imphal branch and all those involved in the camp.

Through your collective efforts, many lives will benefit from the generosity of the blood donors. The excellent planning, coordination, and commitment shown by every volunteer are truly commendable, the ALT GHQs said.

The ALT GHQs also thanked everyone for their selfless service and for inspiring others to contribute to this noble cause.

Rd. Fourthson, a member of the Joyful Friends, said it was an honour to host such events which was of noble cause. “We appreciate and thank the ALT Imphal and all those involved in the camp today. We hope this inspires many more to come forward, donate blood and safe lives,” Fourthson said.

Earlier, ALT Imphal had organised blood donation camps at District Hospital, Chandel and at JNIMS.
