Imphal: Manipur legislator RK Imo Singh sought investigation to initiate action regarding the name ‘Lamka” added as part of the address of ATO Imphal Airport in Air India ticket in a letter to Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Calling it an act of negligence and conspiracy, RK Imo Singh, MLA from Sagolband AC wrote, “It has come to our knowledge through various social media platforms that few Air India tickets have mentioned the ATO office of Imphal, Manipur as Air India, ATO Imphal Airport, Lamka. This is totally unacceptable on the part of Air India to have made this gross error and act of negligence/conspiracy to have altered the name from Imphal to Lamka in the official ticket.”
Pointing out that there is only one airport in the whole State of Manipur located in the capital city of Imphal, the legislator said there can be no error of judgment that an adjoining airport name has been tagged.
Urging the Aviation minister, the Manipuri legislator requested to ensure the original name of the ATO stands corrected in the tickets of Air India adding that “such acts are never repeated in future again.”
