UKHRUL: The World Meetei Council (WMC) has dismissed the disinformation campaign regarding the 6th Plenary Session of the council.
As per WMC, certain disgruntled individuals- who were either suspended from WMC or who voluntarily resigned or dissociated themselves from the organization – have initiated a disinformation campaign aimed at misleading the public, particularly WMC members across the world.
“These individuals are falsely circulating that they are organizing a “6th Plenary Session” at Lamargram, Cachar District, Assam, on March 29, 2026,” WMC said in a statement, while categorically clarifying that its 6th Plenary Session is officially scheduled to be held in Imphal on April 19, 2026.
It may be recalled that WMC had duly notified to the general public on February 25 and widely covered by newspapers, news portals and social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) that the 6th Plenary Session – IMPHAL MEEPHAM 2026 will be held at the City Convention Centre, Imphal on April 19.
