Senapati, Oct 18: In commemoration of the upcoming Silver Jubilee of the college, scheduled to be celebrated in November this year, the Alumni Association of Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram organised a bike rally under the theme “Ride Together, Rise Together” from Mao Gate to Kangpokpi on Saturday.
Addressing the media at Mao Gate, Rev. Dr. K.O. Sebastian, Principal of Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, said the rally was organised to mark the college’s Silver Jubilee. He highlighted that over the past 25 years, the college has performed well both academically and in co-curricular activities, earning several state and national awards.

The Principal noted that the college has rendered immense service to the community, especially the youth, by providing quality education. Thousands of students have passed through its portals. Through collective efforts, the college has received the Prime Minister’s Award for Swachh Bharat, five President’s Awards for NSS, and three Excellence Awards from the state government—achievements credited to the college’s dedication and teamwork.
With the jubilee celebration approaching, Rev. Dr. Sebastian said the rally aimed to spread the message that the college is open to all who seek quality education in today’s globalised world, empowering them to find their rightful place in society. He wished the riders a safe journey, urging them to carry a message of peace and adventure as they rode to Kangpokpi.
Athishu, Assistant General Secretary of the Alumni Association, said the bike rally was organised to inform stakeholders, parents, and well-wishers that the college is celebrating its Silver Jubilee and to invite everyone to take part. He added that the rally also aimed to spread a message of peace at a time when the state has been reeling under unrest for more than two years. Athishu called on all to work together as agents of peace.

The rally was flagged off by Lt. Col. Siddharth Samant, Second-in-Command of the 16 Assam Rifles, and Jonah Chawang, Officer-in-Charge of Mao Police Station. The rally culminated at Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram after travelling from Kangpokpi. Around 100 bikers from the Royal Brothers Motorcycle Club, Senapati, and the Ememei Riders participated in the event.
