AMWJU, EGM Condole Death of Journalist Maibam Ibochouba

UKHRUL: The All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) and Editors’ Guild Manipur (EGM) have condoled the demise of senior journalist Maibam Ibochouba, who passed away on Sunday after prolonged illness.

“Late Maibam Ibochouba had been suffering from a prolonged medical condition. He had previously been diagnosed with serious eye-related complications and high blood pressure, which later resulted in a stroke. Following a tragic fall from a building, he underwent major surgery at Raj Medicity. Despite medical care and support, his health condition continued to deteriorate, leaving him bedridden until his demise,” the AMWJU and EGM stated in a condolence message.

A condolence meeting was held at the Manipur Press Club on Monday, where members of AMWJU and EGM observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul, it stated.

Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, the AMWJU and EGM stated that Maibam Ibochouba was a sincere, hardworking and committed journalist who contributed significantly to the field of media in Manipur. 

“His dedication to truthful reporting and his service to society will always be remembered with deep respect and admiration. May his noble soul rest in peace and his contributions continue to inspire the media fraternity,” the AMWJU and EGM added in its condolence message.
