AMWJU Elects New President for 2021-23 Tenure

All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) on Saturday elected its new president, Wangkhemcha Shyamjai for the tenure 2021-2023. Wangkhemcha is a senior journalist and chief editor of Kangleipaki Meira.

Along with the president, eight AMWJU standing committee was also elected for the tenure which was conducted at Press Club Imphal.

According to sources, Wangkhemcha Shyamjai got 173 votes, Bijoy Kakchingtabam of Poknapham Daily received 148 votes out of the 326 AMWJU votes. Five votes were declared invalid.
