Noney: Distribution programme of tool kit set for artisans of Gaithao Producer Company Limited was held on October 22 at Agro- Ecology Resource Centre, Longmai Part-2 ,Noney District.
The tool kit was distributed under the support of SFURTI scheme under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, government of India. The Gaithao Producer Company Limited under the initiative of RNBA is the implementing agency that deals in Cane & Bamboo base handicrafts and furniture products.
Altogether 87 sets of toolkits were distributed to the artisans of Tamenglong & Noney Districts who had completed 15 days basic training on cane & bamboo’s handicrafts.
Speaking on the even, Dimgong Rongmei, secretary, Development & Relief Dept, RNBA said that this project is being taken up by the RNBA to enhance and imparts the skill up-gradation of local poor artisans who are talented in the field of cane & bamboo based handicrafts products which is found locally.The main focus is to explore to the world the hand made Rongmei handicrafts products by doing the same work but doing it differently.
He urged the artisans to be more dedicated with sincere efforts focusing in our own products with innovative ideas. He challenged the artisans to be more committed in their service and not jump to other profession unless they reached to the top level.
Dimgong Rongmei in conclusion said, “We are very rich in corruption and earn easy money however we are very poor in our own efforts and products. We need to focus in our own local products with innovative ideas and start our own businesses without depending to other foreign products.”
