AR and Manipur Police Conduct Joint Operation in Phaithol, Recover Weapons and Apprehend Suspects

The Assam Rifles in a press release on Tuesday said, it conducted a Joint Combing and Search Operation along with Manipur Police in Phaithol village of Tamenglong district and fringe areas of Jiribam district of Manipur on Monday.

The Joint Operation led to recovery of huge quantity of weapons and war like stores including 303 Rifles, Single Barrel
Rifles, 9mm Pistols, Pompy Guns and various other stores and equipments, AR said.

Further, the press release said that the Joint Operation also resulted in apprehension of two individuals who were handed
over to local Police for further action.

“As the situation in Manipur remains tense due to internal security situation, the Assam Rifles continues to conduct operations to prevent any further escalation of violence and to provide security and assurance to people of Jiribam and neighbouring areas,” said the Assam Rifles.
