AR in Mon dist conducts special awareness seminar; Distributes Smart TV, Water Dispense & Water Tanks to Kongjong School

Mon: As part of the, Longwa Post of Mon Battalion Assam Rifles conducted a special awareness lecture cum seminar and movie (Azadi tribute to freedom fighters) a patriotic movie at Shalom School near India-Myanmar Border.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75 years of Independence was celebrated at Shalom School, Longwa (Mon District) on Monday, attended by the school administration, Village Authorities (VA), youth wing and 350 students of the school, as per Assam Rifles press release.

The event was conducted with an aim to instill pride in every citizen about national flag and Independence. During the lecture students were briefed about the national flag code, importance of national flag. Participants were motivated to take pride in celebrating 75 years of Independence.

The event culminated with Indian national anthem, followed by sweets distribution. The participation from students and local authorities was commendable and they expressed gratitude towards Longwa Post of Assam Rifles for organising informative events, said the release.

In another event hosted by Assam Rifles, smart TV, water dispenser and water tanks were distributed to KongJong School, under Mon district on Monday.

Press release of AR said, the items were present as a good will gesture for students by Col Santosh Rawat,SM , Commandant 27 Assam Rifles to have an interactive and upgraded classroom with a convenient and comfortable environment for a happy learning place.  It was noticed that school faces the shortage of clean drinking water & water shortage which causes inconvenience to students. Considering that 04 x syntax tank along with 01x water dispenser was also handed over to school authorities so that children can have clean drinking water.

During the event, the benefits of Agniveer scheme were iterated by the AR. Information regarding free registration desk being run by 27 AR at Mon post for candidates of Mon district was also iterated to school students and others attending the event, it said.  

The school founder Nyamto Wangsha Konyak expressed gratitude towards Assam Rifles for providing the items which will subsequently help the school to create an effective learning environment. He praised saying, Assam Rifles has always stood up and worked for betterment of Konyak land, the release ended.
