Arms Cache Found After Joint Combing Operation in Ccpur

CHURACHANDPUR, NOV 24: Security forces recovered a cache of arms and warlike items during a joint combing operation carried out on Monday in Ningthiching village and the nearby Bolneo forest area under Henglep police station.

The operation, Police said, began around 9 am with teams from Churachandpur Police, 2 JAKLI, 167 Battalion BSF and 129 CRPF conducting house-to-house verification in the village. A total of 20 houses and 35 residents were checked.

During the exercise, the teams received inputs about weapons suspected to be hidden in the Bolneo forest, roughly 4–5 km from the village. Acting on the information, the security personnel moved to the location, cordoned off the area and launched a search around 11.30 am.

The teams recovered several items concealed under dry leaves in the forest. The list includes:

  1. Modified Projectile Launcher(long range) – 2 nos.
  2. Modified Projectile Launcher(medium range) – 1 no.
  3. Modified Projectile Launcher(short range range) -4 nos.
  4. Local made Pumpi Projectile HE Bomb -11 nos.
  5. Country-made Single Barrel – 7 nos.
  6. Country made pistol – 2 nos.
  7. Pistol magazine- 2 nos.
  8. Pistol live rds – 3 nos.
  9. Handset(Baofeng) – 2 nos.
  10. BP jacket(Full)- 3 nos.
  11. BP jacket(single)- 6 nos.
  12. Anklets – 6 nos.
  13. 12 gauge pouch – 9 nos.

No one was present at the site when the search was conducted, and no arrests were made.

Police said the seized items have been handed over to the Officer-in-Charge of Henglep Police Station for further legal action.
