Assam Rifles Provides Relief Meals to 700 Stranded Along Mao-Kangpokpi Route

UKHRUL: Assam Rifles distributed meals to stranded truck drivers and passengers affected by the prevailing crisis situation in Manipur on 17 May 2026. The relief effort was carried out along the stretch between Mao and Kangpokpi (KPI), where movement of vehicles has remained disrupted for the last three days.

The stranded individuals, including truck drivers, passengers, women and children, had been facing severe hardship due to lack of food and essential supplies. Assam Rifles promptly organised and distributed freshly prepared meals and drinking water to those in distress.

Approximately 700 stranded persons were provided food assistance during the operation. The humanitarian gesture by Assam Rifles brought much-needed relief and reassurance to the affected people during the challenging situation.

The local populace and stranded commuters appreciated the timely assistance extended by Assam Rifles and acknowledged its continued efforts in ensuring safety, security and humanitarian support in the region.
