Assam Rifles Flags Off Seema Darshan Tour From Kohima

KOHIMA: Assam Rifles on Friday flagged off a Seema Darshan Tour for 20 students and two teachers of Government Higher Secondary School, Rusoma, Kohima, under the Op SADBHAVANA project for the financial year 2026–27.

The flag-off ceremony was led by Maj Gen Harinder Singh Mavi, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) [IGAR(N)], who conveyed his best wishes to the students and encouraged them to make the most of the tour by gaining a deeper understanding of India’s diversity, border areas and the role of the Armed Forces.

Officials from 6 Sector Assam Rifles and Kohima Battalion were also present at the ceremony. They interacted with the students and extended their best wishes for a safe and successful tour.

During the tour, the students will visit various locations across the Northeast and border areas, including Guwahati, Tenga, Tawang and Tezpur. The students are scheduled to return to Kohima on September 28.

As part of the tour, the students will also interact with the General Officer Commanding, 5 Mountain Division, providing them an opportunity to gain insights into the role of the Armed Forces and the challenges involved in safeguarding the nation’s borders.

The initiative aims to broaden the students’ horizons through exposure to India’s diverse cultural heritage, the strategic significance of border areas and the contribution of the Armed Forces towards national security. It is also intended to strengthen interaction between the Armed Forces and the people while encouraging youth to develop a deeper understanding of national unity and diversity.
