Imphal: The results of the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSCL) or Class X examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) were declared today.
For the first time in the history, BOSEM adopted a grades and grade points system without display of marks in the certificate-cum-grade statement.

The adoption of the new system is in line with NEP-2020 which aims to enhance the overall performance of students, without giving undue pressure and stress to the candidates, the BOSEM officials said while declaring the results.
The board conducted the Class 10 exams from March 15 to April 3, 2024, in pen-paper mode across 154 centers—63 in the hills and 91 in the valley.

A total of 37,715 students comprising 19,087 boys and 18,628 girls appeared in the exam and the results registered an impressive overall pass percentage with 93.03%. Boys achieved a pass percentage of 93.07%, slightly higher than girls who achieved 93.00%.
On observing district-wise pass percentage, Thoubal district registered the highest pass percentage with 99.04%, showcasing exceptional performance by its students while Jiribam district recorded the lowest pass percentage of 50.74%.

The results also saw the highest pass percentage among the students of private schools with 95.93% followed by aided schools with 92.745%. The government schools reported a pass percentage of 84.34%.
