He said that the “School Phagathansi Mission” programme was launched with the main objective of improving the government-run schools and children of poor families go to school.

However, the mission is yet to cover all the government-run schools, he also said, elaborating that the first phase of the mission covers only one school in each district of the state.

Under the mission, one school selected from these districts is developed as a model school and more schools in each district will be covered by the second phase of the mission.

The minister hoped that the project (BALA) launched today will surely encourage the students while asserting that it is a project to use school building as a learning material.

BALA is a way to holistically plan and use the school infrastructure. It incorporates the ideas of activity based learning, child friendliness and inclusive education for children with special needs (CWSN).

At the core, it assumes that the architecture of school can be a resource for the teaching-learning processes.
