Ukhrul, September 26: The Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony of Gateway to Competitive Exams was held with great enthusiasm and festivity at TTA Smart Hall, Hamleikhong, Hungpung, Ukhrul District, on 26th September 2025, recognizing the outstanding achievements of students in the GCE Scholarship Test. GCE is a special scholarship test organised by Career Pathfinder to prepare young eager minds for different levels of competitive exams. It is a special plan to produce 1000 productive officers in 10 years.
The event commenced with an invocation by Dr. Wungramthan Shongzan, followed by a warm welcome from A.S. Peacemoon Zimik, Chairman of Career Pathfinder. In his welcome speech, he emphasized the importance of setting dreams and goals in students’ lives. He remarked that in this 3rd edition of the GCE Scholarship Test 2025, the participating students were not only from Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts but also from top colleges across India, including St. Stephen’s College (Delhi University), Kirori Mal College, Motilal Nehru College, St. Edmund’s College (Shillong), DM College, and others, competing neck to neck in the event.

The presence of Asish Das, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, as the chief guest, and Dinringam Kamei, SDO Ukhrul, as the guest of honour, added grace to the occasion. In his inspiring address, the chief guest exhorted the young leaders to have a clear vision for the future of Ukhrul. Dinringam inspired the audience with enriching personal life experiences.
A total of 173 students were awarded for excelling in competitive tests ranging from Class V to the graduate level. Thotchanla V.S. Zimik of St. Stephen’s College topped the graduate category, while Ninglum M. Solo (Motilal Nehru College) and Kahoryui Awungshi (St. Joseph’s College, Ukhrul) secured the second and third positions respectively. Mansak Hunphun Awungshi (Kendriya Vidyalaya) and Mansak Penminao Ronra Awungshi (Ukhrul Higher Secondary School) topped Class XII and Class XI respectively.

The other top position holders were:

- Ngashim Vashum (Class X, Ukhrul Central School)
- Philara Ronra Shimray (Class IX, Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School)
- Eleos R. Shimray (Class VIII, Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School)
- Mahorshon Chamroy (Class VII, Savio Higher Secondary School)
- Ayisho Calypso Mashangva (Class VI, Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School)
- Jemimah Sharon (Class V, KTL Excel Higher Secondary School)
The Chairman and the dignitaries congratulated all the winners and appreciated the hard work of the faculty and staff in nurturing talent. “This ceremony is not just about recognizing success; it’s about celebrating the spirit of dedication and continuous improvement,” they remarked.

The event also featured a special performance by Yaruingam Hongchui, adding vibrancy to the evening. The atmosphere was filled with pride and joy as families and friends cheered for the achievers.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Elflieda Shingnaisui, who also hosted the program, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, organizers, and volunteers whose efforts made the event a grand success. The event was attended by Ningmareo Shimray (National Teachers’ Awardee), President of ARSUD, Yarmi kashung, President ARSUD, President of Hunphun Katamnao Long, and President of THYSO.
