CHURACHANDPUR: The Community Development Society (CDS) on Tuesday organised the valedictory ceremony for the fourth batch of its Hospitality – Food & Beverages Training Programme at CDS INFOTECH, Pearsonmun, marking another milestone in its youth skill development initiative.
The programme was chaired by trainer John Biangtung. Centre Coordinator of the Vocational Training Centre for Youth, Lamcy Haokip, delivered the keynote address and presented a report on the progress of the training programme.
Certificates and awards were presented to the successful trainees by Ginlunsiam Thawmte, Manager of Providence Guest House, while Pastor Dr. Tunson Tunglut offered a thanksgiving prayer and blessed the graduates.
Addressing the gathering, CDS President Lianzamung Tonsing encouraged the trainees to remain committed to their profession and uphold high standards of professionalism in their future careers. Speaking on behalf of the graduating batch, Jenny Manlun expressed gratitude to the trainers and organisers for equipping them with practical, industry-relevant skills. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by trainer Bobby Gangte.
The CDS Skill Centre/Vocational Training Centre for Youth, established in 2025 with support from IndiGo CSR, has so far trained 110 youths under its Hospitality – Food & Beverages programme. According to the centre, nearly 90 per cent of the successful trainees have secured placements in four-star and five-star hotels across various cities in India.
Providing an update on the latest batch, Lamcy Haokip said the 45-day training programme continues to achieve encouraging placement results. Of the 46 trainees enrolled in the fourth batch, 39 successfully completed the course, while the remaining participants discontinued due to personal reasons.

He said 19 of the successful trainees have already accepted placement offers and joined hotels, while the remaining graduates will continue to receive placement assistance based on their preferences.
Haokip urged the trainees to apply the knowledge, discipline and practical skills gained during the programme as they begin their careers in the hospitality sector and work alongside experienced professionals.
The training is conducted in batches, with the fourth batch completing its course on Tuesday. The fifth batch is scheduled to undergo assessment shortly, while training for the fifth and sixth batches is currently underway. Admissions have also opened for the seventh batch.
The programme is fully funded by IndiGo CSR and is offered free of cost. Trainees are provided with study materials, meals and refreshments throughout the course, along with placement support upon successful completion of the training.
