Chandel: Sh. Shrimon, Pastor Japhou Baptist Church, Chandel was ordained at Japhou community hall on Friday. Rev. K. Kumar, convenor ordination committee of Monsang Naga Baptist Churches Association (MNBCA) administered the act of ordination and invoked God’s blessing upon Sh. Shrimon in his ministerial endeavours.

During the program, Th. Rockson, member ordination commitee of Monsang Naga Baptist Churches Association (MNBCA) moderated the ceremony. Rev. Alani Shongsir, Executive Secy, Monsang Naga Baptist Churches Association gave a welcome and key note address by welcoming all the dignitaries from civil and religious leaders from different communities, churches and associations from Chandel and other districts.

Sh. Shrimon, in his testimonial sharing expresses profound gratitude to church leaders, chiefs of Maha area Chandel and all the dignitaries and well-wishers who have come to attend the ordination program. He narrated his humble begining from a poor family background. He worked with Operstion Mobilisation (OM) India a charitable organization for a couple of years before joining MNBCA youth department in 1998-99. After his matriculation in 1983, he went on to pursue theological studies in Bangalore but could not complete due to financial difficulties. He had a brief stint working with Operation Mobilisation India from 1985-1988. He also worked as missionary at Khurai Lamlong Imphal in 2000-2001. He also worked as Youth President MNBCA in 2003-2004. Since 2009 he has been working as Pastor of Japhou Baptist Church till date. He received licentiate Pastor in 2012-13 at Japhou Baptist Church. Sh. Shrimon is the son of late Sh. Bethi and Kh. Shangno. He is married to Th. Jamphatin in 1991 and are blessed with two sons and two daughters.

It may be mentioned that Japhou village is a break-away from Kursuw Mhotte village in 1930 because of conversion to Christianity. Since then, the village has been progressing in the field of church ministry. The Japhou Baptist Church has till date produced five prominent reverends in the person of Upa Rev. Kiirii Kumar, Upa Rev. Alani Shongsir, Upa Rev Kh. John, Upa Rev. Ng. Molarhring and Upa Rev. Sh Shrimon. Their contribution towards the growth of the church not only within Japhou village but outside the community level was also acknowledged during the program with gift presentation.

Special no by Women Fellowship, Japhou Baptist Church, artist Zyndee & Hintlen, and presentation and words of appreciation by W. Phamward, Chairman Church Board was followed by grand feasting of the congregation at Japhou village public ground.
