Chandel: STS Awards Meritorious Students

Chandel, July 27: The Sirti Thiimjiitam Soukhre (STS), Monsang Naga Students’ Union, awarded meritorious and outstanding students from the Monsang community during the Sirti Thiimjiitam Soukhre (STS) Meritorious Award 2025 programme held at Liwa Sarei Village in Chandel district on Saturday.

Delivering the welcome note, Gedion Kiirii, President of STS, welcomed all the students, parents, guests and well wishers stating that it was important to encourage those students who excelled in their studies or other fields.

Congratulating the students for their achievements, Sh. Manglem, Ex-ADC Member, 11 Pantha, spoke on the importance of excelling in life, be it education or sports. He also called on the students to concentrate on their studies and choose a career that would best suit them.

Ng. Benithan, President, Sirti Upa Ruh (SUR); W. Chancila, President, SSR and Dr. Sh. Wilson, Food Safety Officer, Chandel, Manipur/President, Monsang Association also congratulated the students for their excellent performances in their studies and other field. Expressing joy over such achievements, they urged and encouraged the students to strife to achieve greater things in life as they are pillars and assets of tomorrow’s society. They advised the students to go for competitive civil exams stating that if they are sincere and work hard, they would be able to achieve their dreams.

Besides the students that excelled in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations conducted by COHSEM, BOSEM and CBSE and were felicitated, those who excelled in other fields were also awarded.

They are Konthang Ngoruh Monsang on being conferred the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD); Ngürii Ningsihngam Patrick of Japhou Upper Primary School, on Winning First Prize in The State Level Quiz Competition Under “RASHTRIYA AVISHKAR ABIYAN (RAA ELEMENTARY) 2024-25”; Ngürüti Rothangrii Monsang of Japhou Village, Chandel on Securing a Place in TOP 100 Students in India Under the Category SECONDARY STAGE IN THE VEERGATHA 4.0 CONTEST Organized by THE GALLANTRY AWARDS PORTAL OF INDIA and Thumthiti Alana Rhingbortin Monsang, Student of Martial Arts Taekwondo Club, Chandel on Securing Gold Medal at the 5th India Progressive Cup National Open Championship 2025 Under CADET Category, held in Howrah, Kolkata, West Bengal.

Rev. Sh. Alani Shongsir Monsang, Executive Secretary, MNBCA prayed for and blessed the students so that they may continue to excel in their lives. The blessing minister advised the students to always remember and put God first in whatever they do, adding that this will guide them in their lives.
