AIZAWL (SHABD): Aizawl 14th July,2026: School Education Minister Dr Vanlalthlana yesterday met Mizoram State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) officials at his office. They discussed the MSCPCR’s efforts to protect the safety and rights of students under the Right to Education Act, 2009 and the support of the School Education Department.
The Minister said that MSCPCR’s inspection of schools and hostels and awareness campaign on the POCSO Act for children’s safety are very important for students. He said that the School Education Department supports the MSCPCR’s inspection of unhealthy food and drink in school hostels and canteens and the safety of students. MSCPCR should continue its efforts and the schools will be safer and more comfortable for the students, he added.

The meeting also discussed the importance of mental and physical health of students as well as safety protocols for school children. The School Education Department and MSCPCR are committed to working together more effectively as the MSCPCR initiative is in line with the School Education guidelines and National Education Policy
