CHURACHANDPUR: Churachandpur District Police was on Wednesday awarded the prestigious Governor’s Unit Citation for the commendable work done in 2025-2026. Churachandpur SP Gaurav Dogra received the unit citation from the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at the Investiture Ceremony for the Governor’s Unit Citation 2026 at the Manipur State Film Development Society in Imphal.
Official sources said, the district police demonstrated outstanding professionalism, arresting 150 accused across NDPS, Arms Act, POCSO, UAPA and other offences during the period.
“Anti-drug operations yielded 40 major seizures worth ₹123.6 crore and destruction of more than 150 acres of illegal poppy cultivation. Counter-insurgency efforts led to recovery of 285 firearms, ammunition, explosives and war-like stores. Additionally, the District Police Cyber Cell recovered 160 stolen mobile phones,” the sources added.
