SENAPATI: Security was intensified in and around Taphou on Tuesday following Monday’s tension, with a combined team of CoBRA Battalion, CRPF and Mahila Battalion conducting a house-to-house search operation in Taphou Liangmai, nearby areas and Taphou Kuki during the early hours.

District police personnel accompanied the CoBRA team, while CRPF personnel conducted the house searches and raids. Female CRPF personnel searched the interiors of houses, while male personnel checked the exteriors and surrounding areas.
The operation was conducted without resistance or intervention from local residents, and no one was detained.
The search came a day after a CRPF personnel sustained a foot injury during Monday’s tension in the area, reportedly from a suspected bullet injury.
No fresh tension was reported in Taphou on Tuesday, though security personnel remained heavily deployed in the area.

Meanwhile, Manipur Police said security forces recovered arms, ammunition and other materials and destroyed three bunkers during a cordon and search operation conducted at Taphou Kuki and Taphou Liangmai in Senapati district on Tuesday.
According to Manipur Police, the recovered items included two SBBL guns, 78 rounds of 12-bore live ammunition, 11 empty 12-bore cases, and empty cases of AK-47 and .22 ammunition.
The team also recovered one 12-bore cartridge belt, one charger set, five vehicle registration plates and one empty steel military-surplus ammunition container.
During the operation, a total of three bunkers were destroyed, including two bunkers at Taphou Kuki and one at Taphou Liangmai, police said.
