Congress MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka Accuses PM Modi, Amit Shah of Neglecting Manipur Crisis for Political Gains

Ukhrul, March 7: AICC Manipur Incharge and Lok Sabha MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of deliberately ignoring Manipur’s prolonged crisis, which is set to complete two years in May. He alleged that instead of addressing the conflict, the BJP government is exploiting the situation to seize Manipur’s resources.

Speaking at a press conference at Congress Bhavan, Imphal on Friday, MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka slammed Prime Minister Modi for not setting foot in strife-torn Manipur, despite repeated pleas from the people. He questioned the BJP government’s apathy, claiming that if similar violence had erupted in any other state, the Prime Minister would have acted swiftly. He alleged that the Centre is more interested in political manipulation than in restoring peace.

The MP further claimed that the removal of former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and the imposition of President’s Rule were strategic moves by the BJP to tighten its control over the state. He pointed out that there were enough MLAs to form a government, yet the BJP chose to suspend democratic processes.

He warned that if the crisis continues to be neglected, it could have serious consequences for the region’s stability.

The Congress leader called upon the people of Manipur to see through the BJP’s political agenda and unite against its neglectful governance.
