In what could be a positive sigh of relieve for the populace of Ukhrul district which has been reeling under moderate surge in Covid-19, there is daily drop in number of positive case.
According to the district surveillance officer Ukhrul, the district reported 5 positive case on Saturday while 16 patients were discharged reducing the total active case from 82 to 71. While cumulative positive stands at 713, of which 427 are males and 286 are females.
Out of the total positive case, 15 are at district hospital isolation ward, 35 at transit Covid care centre, 1 at Jessami community isolation centre, 19 at Ukhrul higher secondary school CHIC, and 1 at Litan community isolation centre. While cumulative positive stands at 708, of which 425 are males and 283 are females, according to district surveillance officer, Ukhrul.
Meanwhile, in continuation of its 26 June notification, the district administration Ukhrul is set to carry out its second-phase of Covid awareness cum mass vaccination drive in the district starting 5 to 11 July.
The campaign aims to cover the entire eligible populace of the district.
The drive targeted age group comprised of 18 years above, and 45 years above.
Ukhrul headquarters and Peh village will be covered in the second phase.
The first phase will end on Sunday.
In their bid to ensure protection from the virus and return to normalcy, the district administration and healthcare workers has been relentlessly ramping up Covid awareness and mass vaccination campaign in the district.

Covid-19 protocol and Covid appropriate behaviour shall be strictly enforced during the course of awareness.
The DM meanwhile has appealed the local Covid awareness and enforcement committee to assist the engaged health workers to ensure that all are vaccinated while urging the Covid awareness cum enforcement committee of 44-Ukhrul and 45-Chingai Assembly constituencies to assist and provide adequate logistics support during the drive.
Kamjong district reported no Covid positive case in the last 24 hours.
