Ukhrul: The 152 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), under the supervision of the Inspector General of the Manipur and Nagaland Sector, organized a Civic Action Programme on January 11 in Nongthonband and nearby villages under Sekmai Police Station, Imphal West.
Commandant Love Kumar, PMG, attended the programme as the chief guest, accompanied by Second-in-Command Suresh Kumar, Company Commanders Sunil (C/152), Jasmat Kumar (E/152), Th. Mema Devi (D/152), and the Officer-in-Charge of Sekmai Police Station, along with other CRPF personnel.

During the event, the Commandant addressed the villagers and beneficiaries, emphasizing the CRPF’s dedication to community welfare. He was warmly welcomed by the village chief and other prominent locals, while students from the area performed colourful cultural dances and other activities, celebrating the region’s traditions and heritage.
As part of the programme, blankets were distributed to the underprivileged, and a free medical camp was set up to provide health check-ups and medicines at no cost. The Commandant praised the students and youth for their exceptional performances, commending their role in preserving and showcasing their culture.
This initiative follows similar programmes by the 152 Battalion in Tairenpokpi, Khongnangpokpi, Kanglatongbi, and Kanto Sabal villages. In these areas, the battalion has provided water storage tanks, mosquito nets, sports equipment, stationery, and medical assistance, earning widespread appreciation.
The village chief and residents expressed their gratitude to the CRPF, acknowledging the 152 Battalion’s efforts in improving the lives of people in the region.
