Deputy CM Nemcha Kipgen condemns killing of elderly farmer in Kangpokpi

UKHRUL: Manipur deputy chief minister Nemcha Kipgen has condemned the killing of Hemjang Haokip, a 71-year-old farmer from Khunkho village in Kangpokpi district.

Nemcha Kipgen on Sunday expressed condolences to the bereaved family and condemned what she described as a “brutal act of violence” against an elderly civilian.

She urged the authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident, establish the facts and take firm action against those responsible in accordance with the law.

The deputy chief minister also appealed to people to remain calm and exercise restraint, saying such incidents should not result in further loss of life or deepen tensions.

She conveyed her condolences to the family and wished them strength and courage to bear the loss.
