Kohima, March 26: The ‘disturbed area’ tag has been withdrawn from three police stations in Nagaland, which will come into effect from April 1, 2023.

According to a statement from the PIB today, the government has withdrawn the tag from Sungro police station in Wokha district, Akuluto police station in Zunheboto district and VK Town police station in Zunheboto district.

“This latest de-notification of AFSPA comes in addition to the 15 police stations in 7 districts of Nagaland, where the Act was revoked on April 1, 2022,” a news report said.
It can be recalled here that in the year 2022, the ‘disturbed area’ tag was revoked from the districts of Tuensang, Shamator and Tseminyu, while it was partially withdrawn from Kohima, Wokha, Mokokchung and Longleng districts.

With this latest development, the ‘disturbed area’ tag has been revoked from 18 police stations in Nagaland.
