Durand Cup 2025 Kicks Off with Grand Trophy Tour in Imphal: Mirabai Chanu Leads the Charge

Imphal, July 9: Ahead of the 134th edition of the Durand Cup 2025 (Imphal Chapter), a grand Trophy Tour (Road Show) will take place on July 10, showcasing the prestigious cup across key locations in Imphal.

The road show, featuring Indian weightlifting icon Saikhom Mirabai Chanu alongside senior Army officials, will commence at 10:30 am from Sendra, Loktak Lake. The tour will wind through prominent routes in Imphal and conclude at the City Convention Centre.

Following the road show, the Trophy Showcasing Ceremony will be held at the City Convention Centre and will be attended by Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh.

The 134th Durand Cup will be held from July 23 to August 23, 2025. The tournament was officially flagged off by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on July 4.
Imphal is set to host Group F matches featuring TRAU FC, NEROCA FC, Indian Navy FT, and Real Kashmir FC at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium. A total of six high-octane matches will be played across seven days: July 30 (Wednesday), August 1 (Friday), August 4 (Monday), August 7 (Thursday), August 10 (Sunday), and August 12 (Tuesday). All matches are scheduled to kick off at 4 pm.

The Imphal Chapter is expected to attract large crowds, with enthusiastic fans turning out to support their favourite teams in what promises to be an electrifying football spectacle.
