During the interaction, Easternlight Zimik stated, “The collection is also a step towards innovation in our textiles, exploring different skills of craftsmanship in our region, and utilizing them in various mediums. The collection aims to delve deeper into our community and identity through our clothing, music, landscape, and creativity. It seeks to make KASHAN (mekhala/wraparound) more acceptable to the younger generation, breaking the mentality of wearing it only on formal occasions and enabling it to be used more as everyday wear. The intention is to make it an everyday fashion statement, proudly showcasing our identity, the uniqueness, and the power of our KASHAN.”

“It is also my dream to build a system that enables our weavers to showcase their skills to the world, which will, in turn, uplift their lives and empower them,” added Easternlight Zimik.

A bevy of models walked down the ramp, showcasing the beautiful creations, much to the awe of the attendees.

Let the flaws we have become golden threads that mend the brokenness with beauty, glow, and value. Let the beauty within you, within us, shine forth, so we make our land a beautiful land—a land of glory. A land that people yearn to visit and see, and we will show that we are beautiful people living together in beauty.” She praised Easternlight Zimik for his vibrant designs.
