Environment Conservation Awareness Day Observed at Christ King School, Chingjaroi Khullen

Ukhrul, July 21: Christ King School, Chingjaroi Khullen in Ukhrul district observed Environment Conservation Awareness Day at the school’s premises. Organised by the Archdiocese of Imphal, Rev. Fr Aloysius, Principal of the school highlighted the urgency of owning our environment with love and care.

The program began with a poster presentation by the students of Class II and III, highlighting the significance of the environment and the need for its protection. The colorful posters, creatively illustrated with messages and drawings, emphasized topics such as the importance of trees, clean water, reducing plastic use, and preserving biodiversity.

Following this, an exhibition was held featuring charts, diagrams, and models on various environmental themes including water conservation, pollution control, renewable energy, and the life cycle of plants. Students from different classes visited the exhibition in groups, where they interacted with the presenters and asked questions. The interactive nature of the session encouraged curiosity and critical thinking on ecological issues.

In the afternoon, a rally procession Campaign on Climate Change and tree plantation was organized through the village with students holding placards and shouting slogans such as “Save Nature, Save Future”, “Plant Trees, Breathe Clean”, and “Protect Earth, It’s Our Only Home”. The procession drew the attention of the villagers and helped spread the message of environmental conservation beyond the school premises.

The day concluded with a cleaning drive and tree plantation activity in and around the school campus. Students enthusiastically participated in picking up litter, sweeping areas, and planting saplings. These practical actions served as a powerful reinforcement of the values taught throughout the day.

The Environment Conservation Awareness Day was a meaningful and impactful event that not only educated students but also inspired them to be responsible stewards of the environment. The school community is committed to continuing such initiatives to nurture a generation that values and protects the planet.
