Finance Ministry releases 1660.15 Crore to 7 North East States

UT News Service | Aug 13: The Finance Ministry on August 11, 2020 released ₹6,195.08 crore to 14 states as the fifth equated monthly installment of the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant account for 2020-21, as recommended by the 15th Finance Commission. “This would provide them additional resources during the Corona crisis”, the Finance Minister’s office tweeted on Tuesday.

The Finance Ministry released August instalment of post-devolution revenue deficit grant to 14 states of which 7 North East states received the grant account for 2020-21.

The 7 North East states are: Assam ₹631.58, Manipur ₹235.33, Meghalaya ₹40.91, Sikkim ₹37.33, Tripura ₹269.66, Mizoram ₹118.93, Nagaland ₹326.41.

Other states included in the fifth equated monthly installment grant are Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
