Nagaland reports 87 fresh cases of COVID-19

UT News Service | DIMAPUR, AUG 12: Nagaland reported 87 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking the tally to to 3118. According to Health minister Pangnyu Phom, “87 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 614 samples tested”.

He said that 48 fresh cases of COVID-19 are from Dimapur, 35 are from Kohima, 3 from Zunheboto district and 1 from Wokha district.

Till date, the state has 2119 active cases of COVID-19 and 985 recovered cases.
Meanwhile, the administration has informed that 6 areas have been sealed in the state capital Kohima.

A house in Upper AG Colony of Ward 15, a house in Upper P.R. Hill Colony of Ward 19, two houses in Merhulietsa (Para Medical) Colony of Ward 18, a house near CBZCC in Officer’s Hill Colony of Ward 10 and 1 staff room of Hotel Eastgate have been sealed. 

“The listed areas have been sealed in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection and necessary contact tracing”, the administration further informed.
