FIR filed against Kuki Times for open threat to bomb Imphal City

Imphal: A police complaint was filed against a Facebook Page in Imphal West Police Station for an open threat to bomb Imphal City on their official page. The FIR sought for taking up strict legal action against the accused person(s) [Kuki Times] for committing offence under Section 120-A, 121, 121-A, 124, 153-A, 511 and Section 13, 18 of the UAP Act, 1967 so as to punish them in accordance with law, the complaint letter said.

The complaint was filed against the accused person and his associates for their “unlawful activities which is a serious threat to the national security and destroying peace and harmony of the State,” the letter said.

Manipur’s BJP MLA Rajkumar Imo Singh took to X and said “FIR has been filed under various sections by a concerned citizen of the State, for post of hatred against the offical Facebook Page of Kuki Times, where it has openly threatened to bomb Imphal City starting from CM Bungalow. Strict action should be initiated against such people behind this page. I urge people across all communities to show some restrain and instead work towards bringing peace. Peace can only be brought when violence stops and political dialogue starts involving all sections of the society.”

Stating that the present violence in Manipur is also a pre-planned illegal activity of the armed Kuki militants, the complainant accused the Kuki community, stating, “The Kuki’s from Manipur and their brethren from Myanmar, Bangladesh are demanding for a separate Kuki homeland/country called Zalengam by integrating parts of Myanmar, Bangladesh & India. They even submitted memorandum to the United Nations and Prime Minister of Israel. This is a threat to integrity and sovereignty of our nation.”

Further, the complainant stated, “In support of the terror activities of the armed Kuki militants I came cross a Facebook profile, the Kuki Times which uploaded in social media that “Now, let’s gear up and fight the good fight with whatever available resources that we have.”

We can bomb Imphal City starting from C.M. Bungalow…..

This terror threat was made by using social media platform Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/kukitimes2013?mibextid=ZbWKwL) under the name KUKI TIMES who have a wide follower of 9.3K. Their terror propaganda spreaded in collision with armed Kuki militants in the Kuki Times is to encourage the terror thoughts so as to continue and escalate the present violence in the State of Manipur. It is a serious threat against resident of Imphal and also against high dignity of the State so as to refrain him from exercising his lawful powers. It has also affected in social harmony in the State. The Kuki Times in conspiracy with armed Kuki militants abets and incites the commission of unlawful terrorist activities.”
